SONGBIRD: DARK FLUTE EXPLORATIONS

SONGBIRD is the new installment in my Dark Explorations series of solo instrument libraries, focused on creating moods typical of genres like thrillers, dark drama and horror. It features symphonic flautist Natalia Trigueros pushing her instrument to its limits, coaxing a large array of unsettling sounds out it.

The concert flute is usually regarded as a soothing, light and magical woodwind, and there are many libraries that convey this extremely well. However, this library is not that at all. The notes often break and become unstable, giving an ominous feel and a sense of danger. SONGBIRD is not an instrument for beauty, but for invoking darkness and a feeling that things aren't right.

SONGBIRD has been recorded with extreme dynamics, from an airy pianissimo, where you can feel the notes gasping for air, to a violent fortissimo with harmonics bursting out of control. And with features like the Drama control, you can easily manipulate the dynamics to give you the exact intensity you need.
